ELDER Hosiery Mills, Inc. was founded by the Elder family in 1919 as a greige goods knitting mill. Today, the business is still owned by the Elders and is managed by the brothers John and Delos Elder, Jr. Each has over twenty years of hosiery experience.
Over the past 30 years ELDER has developed the capacity and reputation as a manufacturer of heavyweight thermal socks. ELDER Hosiery Mills has been instrumental in developing several thermal styles in conjunction with the Army Research Department for military use and has passed their rigorous testing and inspection procedures.
With their background and experience with woolen yarns and man made fibers, they introduced ELDER socks for the outdoor enthusiast. ELDER incorporates the best fibers and technology available for cold weather comfort. Much of the research completed for the military is incorporated into these styles. We believe that ELDER socks cover the needs of the serious outdoorsman.
