The brand name Wigwam was acquired from the defunct Sheboygan Knitting Co. in March, 1905 along with knitting machines and employees. The articles of incorporation were signed for the Hand Knit Hosiery Company and stock was issued.

During WW II Hand Knit manufactured goods for soldiers as well as civilians. The Wigwam Brand had reached new heights in popularity as a result of aggressive nationwide advertising.

The 1980's saw growth in many areas for Wigwam. A new logo and more technical synthetic fibers were becoming more specialized. Wigwam developed the Poly-Wool line of performance socks as well as the overnight success--Moraine.

The turn of the twenty-first century has seen Wigwam continue to grow with new product lines. Wigwam continues to look forwrd to new challenges that the future will bring and Wigwam maintains that their quality will always be...simply the best from Sheboygan, Wisconson
